Purge of the American Father

Hi Wayne

I sympathize with your plight. I got custody of my daughter in
1976. This could not have been, except for the fact that the judge asked
her twice if she was sure that she didn't want her, and she answered,
"Yes, I'm sure."
My daughter is now 20 years old, and living with her mother, for
the time being. While I realize there are men who would only take
custody for the sake of not paying child support, I always
raised my daughter to love her mother because I felt that she should have
a relationship with her. Her mother came to take my
daughter each year in June, and brought her back at the end of the month
with no deviation from the agreed upon time. My daughter now says she is
glad her mother and I had such a relationship with each other and she is
proud I raised her as I did.
I believe most men would take such a responsibility with as much
seriousness and commitment as I did. You are right about the male
bashing courts on this time we live in, but I think that in time, this
also will be rethought by the judicial system, just as other liberal
ideas have been. If more children were raised by both parents in such a
manner, there would unavoidably be more adults in the future who would
force this issue to come to light.
Wayne, you have brought up something that I could not ignore. I
had to post my opinion on it. Thanks, buddy. :)
