Isn't the fusion done with Deuterium and Tritium - which, when fused into
Helium result in one spare Neutron.  On a small scale, this is converted to
heat, but on the scale large enough for generation of power, some radiation
would be detectable - though most definitely not even approaching the scale
of fission.
