For those that don't get the NRA-ILA Fax Alerts this might be of interest.
This is probably the most direct a attack on the 2nd amendment so far. If MA
is stupid enough to pass this trash maybe the 2nd will finally get its day
in court. However, the fact that it had to be done via stealth during the
night may mean it has only a small chance of passage. You poor folks in MA
are making a joke of Lexington & Concord, Bunker Hill and the Boston Tea
Party. Perhaps you should simply secede and return to the crown as a colony.
They have already banned all firearms in the UK.

                     URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT

PASSAGE OF BILL THROUGH SENATE THREATENS THE RIGHTS
              OF ALL MASSACHUSETTS FIREARMS OWNERS!

Last week the Senate passed S.148, Sen. Jacques' so-called
"assault weapons" ban through Second and Third Readings in the
middle of the night. The bill now goes to the House with a new
number (Senate 1985) due to the amendment changes. Not only will
S.1985 ban laser sights, large capacity magazines, and the
inheritance of certain firearms, BUT IT WILL ALSO BAN MOST
SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIREARMS MANUFACTURED AFTER 1899. S.1985 will
also create "gun courts", create gun storage requirements and
negligence statutes.

Make no mistake! This is no longer a bill which would
outlaw a list of firearms because they look threatening. This is
an attack against all firearms owners in Massachusetts.
