Why Did Senator Thompson “Wimp Out?”

Just when his committee was bringing forward witnesses
who could provide substantial data on violations of campaign
finance law. Senator Thompson joins with Democrat Objectionist
John Glenn in stopping further hearings.

His reason, “an absence of witnesses” is disingenuous.
He could bring up all the Clinton folks who would take the “fifth”
if called, and let the American People see them state that they do
not want to incriminate themselves. as did members of the Mafia
who once took the fifth.

The clarifying question would then become now what it was then,
“What are these folks hiding?”

If he did not “wimp out” then, like a hunter, he just shot
the lead dog as it “treed” the quarry.
