Help with stats on murders, executions?

I'm trying to put together some statistics on murders, executions, and
possible links between the two. But I'm missing some data for the murder
rate and execution rate in Texas. Anyone have any data on these? If you
have the Statistical Abstract from the years 1994 and 1995, you may have
the numbers I need. Also, murder and execution rates for Texas, and the
nation as a whole, in the years 1996 and 1997. Drop me a line!

So far, it looks like the murder rate in Texas, where they have been
executing a lot of murderers recently, is falling much faster than the
rate for the country as a whole. But my numbers are incomplete, as you
can see-- can anyone fill in the missing ones?

Thanks,

Steve Maher
