Over Estimating The Numbers

I remember when the shootings at Goshen, IN, were first announced on all
of the major cable outlets, such as Fox or MSNBC. The initial estimates
of those having been shot ranged from 30-35 people. When I left work at
1800HRS CST, the count had been reduced to no more than 10, with one
employee dead and the shooter taking his own life. Do you believe that
those who first reported this incident, should have checked their facts
before announcing that as many as 35 people had been shot? Someone sure
looks like the fool when the more accurate account comes out hours later.
