There is a certain amount of fat that a child needs prior to the age of 2
that stimulates growth of the synapse areas of the brain. Without this
needed fat, a child can actually be under developed mentally. That is why a
low fat diet is not suggested for a young child. A diet rich in protein,
dairy and veggies is the best.
