I didn't know the NFL was set up as an institution of morality. When did
that happen?

The big deal is that we are talking about the highest ranking church
officials in the US whose religion demands not only celibacy from its
clerics but considers homosexual activity an abomination before God. When
top ranking officials violate these tenets the church itself loses all
moral authority. What function does a church serve that has none?
