I might add that they have no native film industry rather they have a tax
on American films which the people want to watch. The french government
taxes these to support the native film industry, which can not make a
profit, so that the poor slobs in that industry won't get their fealings
hurt when no one goes to see their films. But they do have the Canne
film festival when they can get together with their fellow travlers (
communists) from America (hollywierd).
