You are not wrong. Outsourcing and now FTAA is a direct assult on the
middle class and our national sovergionty.

As to the Mickey$oft just reinstall if the Norton utilitys Anti-virus
does not find the solution.

As for your files and recovering them you have the choice to pay someone
or take a few knoppix lessons from me.

First find a friend with broadband and get a copy of knoppix.org the
latest is Feb 16 2004.

Then I can talk you through. BTW do you have a CD burner on that box?

BTW after all the bitching and moaning of the democrats in California
grocery stores I find some newly hired ESL students working the deli and
you know they are on the lower tier pay scale.

..........then it's gotta be a Dell!

Folks, the OS on my Dell Dimension Desktop 4300 has been FUBAR for weeks,
now. When calling Dell Customer Support, one gets to talk to a person who
sounds like the character "Apoo" from "The Simpsons".

Alright, that's demeaning to anyone from India, but it's *TRUE*, confound
it! I've been nagging Dell like a junkyard dog after a steak bone. Here's
what happens. The call goes to a CSR in India. After verifying that
you're who you say you are, Apoo.... ....er, ah, I mean the CSR asks what
the trouble is and you talk him through the symptoms.

The CSR will often place you on hold for some 90 seconds at a clip
(perhaps longer). I figure that he's either e-mailing Dell or
Micro-crap....I mean "soft".....MicroSOFT to find out what to tell me to
do next.

Now then......I want you people who endorse NAFTA and GATT to 'splain to
me how this is cheaper than having those CSR jobs stateside. I heard Neal
Boortz on Thursday defending "outsourcing" of this nature, stating that
it was "important for the survival of the business of a friend who owns a
small software business."
