The cool water and steep gorges attract swimmers and divers during the summer, but also serve as "chlorine for  the gene pool".  People have a history of being stupid there, and increased attempts have been made in recent years to police the high risk areas.... 

 St Pat's Day was too early for swimming activity, so nobody was looking out for this one....
