Correct. Too weak a central government cannot work as this proved. It is a
necessary evil.

No you are apparently a no government guy and slipping into intellectual
dishonesty by mischaracterizing my position. You seem to define "big
government" as anything short of anarchy.

Agreed. However, our big government does not mean the vision of the founders
should be abandoned. What we have today is not their vision nor their doing.
It is following Sir Tyler's  theory (I think theorem)  of the seven stages
of civilization. Although this government has lasted longer than any other
in the history of man. The result of human nature.
We can only blame ourselves. Can we get back? A very difficult road to hoe
thanks to a series of progressives like Wilson, Roosevelt, Johnson and of
course Obama to name a few combined with a growing populace dependent on the
dole.
