[Rushtalk] Prism

You're absolutely right, it was renewed - by both parties. Like just about
anything temporary that serves government, it will likely never expire.
Obama is far from innocent. He's pushing us down the slope even faster than
"W". But "W" did indeed act as the catapult.

And we're still divided in Congress. Some want this guy prosecuted. He did
break the law.  No doubt.  On the other hand, that's what totalitarians do;
they prosecute the dissenters.

Except the Patriot Act expired and was renewed but with another expiration
date. As far as I know Prism does not expire.

Bush did start this. It put us right on the slippery slope. Remember all
our whining about ObamaCare being signed without being read? Well, the
Patriot Act was the same way. Forgot his name, but the rep who penned the
eavesdropping section admitted Congress didn't read it. He claimed that
this goes way beyond its intent. Who is he trying to kid? The Patriot Act
and DHS were catalysts down the slippery slope, and that does rest with "W".

The law doesn't allow this. Read the clear text of the fourth amendment.
You must have a specific target, and specifically identify what it to be
searched for and seized if found. The courts are consistent on this, or so
I was told in law school.

Obama is now trying to claim that "Bush did it too" (THERE'S a
surprise - he's blaming Bush!)......Michael Savage said in an October, 2008
broadcast that Obama would beat McCain easily and he'd (Obama) "lead the
country into lawlessness." He couldn't have been more accurate with a gun to
his head!

"The law allows for the targeting of any customers of participating firms
who live outside the US, or those Americans whose communications include
people outside the US."

Oh well then we're all safe, right?

"To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such
District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular
states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of
the United States . . . ."
