Would you agree with that if someone used it to argue their objection to the Second Amendment? There are many who say that our present implementation is detrimental to society.

I am sure you disagree. Just as many Muslims disagree with us.

But you make my point to perfection: religious freedom, as long as it's us.

Well, at what point do you place parameters? When something becomes detrimental to the whole of society, then what? This brings to mind the old saw, "don't be too open-minded or your brains might fall out."

Being too permissive brings trouble, usually.............

And, for many years, people thought that about Christianity.  Should it have been outlawed?

Freedom of religion – as long as we agree with the religion.

Should we permit open practice of Satanism?!? I vehemently disagree!

Did you miss the part where they're outlawing *other* religions?

Apparently, I did. That part I don't hold with. Islam is a violent political cult, not a religion in my opinion.

Others don't have that label in my book.

Angola bans Islam, will demolish all mosques

A number of newspapers in the region are reporting that the Republic of Angola has outlawed Islam, apparently in an effort to thwart the spread of Muslim radicalism in the country.

Among them was La Nouvelle Tribune, a French-language newspaper out of Morocco, reports the International Business Times <http://www.ibtimes.com/angola-bans-islam-dismantles-mosques-according-news-reports-1483660> .

La Nouvelle Tribune observed that a minaret on an Angolan mosque had been removed previously. Also, in the small city of Zango, not far from the capital of Luanda, government officials reportedly destroyed a mosque.

The Moroccan paper quoted Angola̢۪s minister of culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, a, for details.

“The process of legalization of f Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights,â€Â Cruz e Silva said. “Their mosques would be closed until further r notice.â€Â

The ban, which includes an order to destroy all mosques in the country, isn’t ¢t specific to Islam, according to India Today <http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/angola-first-country-to-ban-islam-muslims-mosques-demolished/1/326414.html> . Other faiths which don’t meet et government approval will face the same restrictions.

“All sects on the list t published by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in the Angolan newspaper ‘Jornal de Angola’ ‚¬â„¢ are prohibited to conduct worship, so they should keep their doors closed,â€Â Cruz e Silva was quoted by as saying by the Cameroon Voice.

It̢۪s not clear which other er religions are included.

Other government officials firmly agreed with the culture minister.

Bento Francisco Bento, governor of the country’s Luanda province, has declared that at radical Muslims are “not welcome in n Angola.â€Â

“This is the the final end of Islamic influence in our country,â€Â added Angola’s President José Eduardo do dos Santos.

According to the CIA’s World ld Factbook <https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ao.html> , the people of Angola are mostly a mix of local tribes. There’s a very small minority of Europeans. s. There’s also a healthy 22 percent representation on from ethnic groups called “other.â€Â

About 50 percent ent of the people in Angola practice indigenous religious beliefs. Roman Catholics make up 38 percent of the population. Protestants make up 15 percent.

To whatever extent adherents of Islam are living among the 18 million or so inhabitants in Angola, then, the population is by all accounts very small.

Portuguese is the official language of Angola. The country is slightly less than twice the size of Texas.
