Official records credit 5 U.S. pilots with 9 kills, 4 probables, 2 damaged.   Japs records show they lost 29 planes outright and wrote off 26 of the retuning aircraft to damage. (15 percent of aircraft they launched).  Someone kicled some butt for that to happen.   Tom
