Exactly. The fans(paying customers) are paying to watch a sports performance.   If they wanted toxic politics then CNN would still have ratings.  
Interesting to note the Hatch Act as currently interpreted draws a line at my Post Office door.. Political bumper stickers may be seen on cars in the parking lot, but not inside the workplace on my locker, tool box, or T shirt.  Imagine the howl it the Hatch Act was extended to publicly funded venues such as stadiums???   Tom
