[Rushtalk] Ultimate Stupidity

As I mentioned once before, I refuse to get into the global warming debate. It’s pointless. No rational discussion can be had – with either extreme.
The worst thing about the streets is the congestion. I am sure some are crumbling, but generally it’s no problem to drive anywhere – traffic aside. Infra-structure wise, the water mains are the concern. Most know it, and yet any time the streets are dug up to fix them, the outcry due to increased congestion is over whelming. But even that is being remedied.
White paint – well, it will sure be better on our feet during the next marathon! When the ambient temperature starts hitting 110 and higher, the heat from the blacktop shoots right through your shoes. Flip flops can actually stick, and over a couple of days, you can start to see the waves in it from the weight of the many vehicles. Thinner/cheaper tires start to blow out of one is parked too long. You can actually get burned if you fall on it. If some “white paint” will help alleviate that, I’m all for it.

Stephen, I refuse to buy into the nonsense that mankind is responsible for "global warming." The New York Times has been pushing that lie since Abe Lincoln was President. In 1922, the Washington Post ran a scare story about how we would all suffer if we didn't keep the planet cool. Here's the URL <http://www.foxnews.com/story/2007/08/14/washington-dc-resident-finds-122-article-showing-early-signs-climate-change.html><https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fstory%2F2007%2F08%2F14%2Fwashington-dc-resident-finds-122-article-showing-early-signs-climate-change.html&data=02%7C01%7C%7C51e43d996e2a457d8f8408d5a40b167a%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636595289883537038&sdata=zbcFh7tvK9UkdWQciS2jtfN1dUA1ZZnuGR4CJr2p2tQ%3D&reserved=0>
I seem to gather from the piece below that LA's streets are crumbling. Take it from me (Western Pennsylvania's got some of the worst-looking streets in America right now), there are better "remedies" for decaying infrastructure than a slick coat of white paint.

How about digging just a little deeper. We may think it’s stupid, but there is actually some science behind it. The EPA’s conclusion on the effects to global warming, ehhh, grain of salt. But Global Warming is most definitely NOT the reason he is pushing for this.
Spin, spin, spin.
I am guessing that more than 90% of the time I fall for these “film at 11:00” postings, I find them to be sensationalistic come-ons. There is so much real crap in the world, and we’re posting this kind of drivel. How deep are we sinking? Now we are even posting commercials for Sunday’s celebration and worship!
I seem to recall, obviously from years ago, issues and lively debate. Now, well, …. ☹

LA Mayor Garcetti has solved the Climate Change Crisis that doesn't exist. Spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to paint already crumbling streets white. Genius!
