[Rushtalk] California pounds another nail in coffin of First Amendment

Yes it matters. Read it. Then you can do your own original thinking, based on fact, and you won’t have to rely on someone else’s take. What a concept! The fact that you rely on the media and seemingly refuse to do any real vetting speaks clearly to your positions on many issues.

It's a big problem today. Regardless of media source, if the media reports something with which we agree, we are jumping up and down lauding the “unbiased reporting”. Then if it is something with which we don’t agree, we are the first to jump up and cry “fake news”. But when testing the accuracy is at our finger tips, I can’t comprehend why we wouldn’t immediately dig to the source rather than just taking someone else’s word for it.

Assuming accuracy in all reporting based on accuracy in some is a non sequitur. I would think that we would all be at least somewhat skeptical of a media so prone to bias and many times even outright mis-reporting.

Does that matter? WND isn't the New York Times, you know? The Times has had to print several major retractions in recent weeks..........

It makes sense California would do this.

A state that passes laws prohibiting parents of children with gender dysphoria from getting professional help ... or proposing a law that would have effectively banned Bible sales and made churches targets of LGBTQ lawsuits ... doesn't care about the First Amendment.

California is one giant slippery slope for liberty, so this bill to fight "fake news" on social media awaiting Gov. Brown's signature should be no surprise.

But it should scare you.

Fortunately, legal teams are geared up and telling the state to bring it on ...

Maybe Stephen Frye doesn't believe this, either?
