Ron Kampeas, JTA 28.06.22 14:11 ________________________________________________________________________ Freedom Of Religion Supreme Court Former Bremerton High School assistant football coach Joe Kennedy Former Bremerton High School assistant football coach Joe Kennedy Win McNamee/Getty Images The US Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Seattle-area football coach who lost his job after leading prayers on the field following his team?s victories, in a decision that could have ramifications for students and teachers in public schools and service members in the military. Some Jewish groups say the 6-3 ruling in Kennedy v. Bremerton, issued Monday, could roll back church-state separations that barred prayers in schools for decades. ?This is a significant change in how we approach prayer in public schools, and one that will have a negative impact in particular on students of marginalized faiths and non-religious students,? said Rachel Robbins, the chairwoman of the Anti-Defamation League?s Civil Rights Committee. The ADL, which joined a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the school district, said it was ?deeply disturbed? by the decision. The expressions of concern came despite reassurances by Justice Neil Gorsuch that the ruling was in line with a famous 1992 Supreme Court decision in favor of a Rhode Island Jewish family who objected to clergy leading prayer at their children?s public school. Writing for the court?s conservative majority, Gorsuch quoted from that decision, Lee v. Weisman, in which the court held ?that religious beliefs and religious expression are too precious to be either proscribed or prescribed by the State.? The ruling Monday in favor of Joseph Kennedy, an assistant coach in the Bremerton, Washington, school district, Gorsuch wrote, similarly protects First Amendment religious freedoms. Jewish groups were not buying it. ?The Court?s see-no-evil approach to the coach?s prayer will encourage those who seek to proselytize within the public schools to do so with the Court?s blessing,? said Marc Stern, the chief legal officer of the American Jewish Committee, which had joined a friend-of-the-court brief on the side of the school district. ?That is no advance for religious liberty,? Stern added. The Bremerton case centered on the activities of Kennedy, who started out by praying alone at the 50-yard line and did not call on others to join him. But soon after, students and others started joining Kennedy in prayer, alarming the school district. It proposed alternatives, including allowing him to pray after the game, but he declined and continued to pray to increased media attention. The school district decided not to renew his contract. The court concluded, essentially, that by preventing a Christian high school coach from praying, the school district had violated his civil rights no less than had it forced other children to pray. ?Here, a government entity sought to punish an individual for engaging in a brief, quiet, personal religious observance,? Gorsuch said, emphasizing that Kennedy had not explicitly urged students to join him in prayer. ?It seems clear to us that Mr. Kennedy has demonstrated that his speech was private speech, not government speech,? Gorsuch wrote. ?This case looks very different from those in which this Court has found prayer involving public school students to be problematically coercive,? he said, specifically citing Lee v. Weisman. Lee v. Weisman involved a Baptist clergyman who said at a 1986 middle school graduation ceremony in Providence, ?Please rise and praise Jesus for the accomplishments of these children today.? Merith Weisman?s parents, Vivian, the assistant executive director at the local Jewish Community Center, and Daniel, a social work professor, were unnerved, and the prayer triggered a series of events and lawsuits that culminated in the landmark 1992 case. That decision was 5-4. Antonin Scalia, the late conservative justice whom Gorsuch replaced, said for years it was wrongly decided. The AJC?s Stern said Gorsuch was cherry-picking quotes from the earlier decision to make his own opinion sound less far-reaching than it was. ?There?s a tendency to sanitize a practice, rip it out of its historical roots and look at it in splendid isolation, and so it [appears] not so terrible,? Stern said in an interview. Kennedy, as an assistant coach, may not have the same power as the principal in the Rhode Island case who invited clergy, Stern said, but the coach still had coercive power over students, and it was disingenuous to suggest otherwise. ?Kids will do anything to get on a coach?s good side and get playing time,? Stern said. Justice Sonia Sotomayor, writing for the liberal minority in the dissent, made a similar point, illustrating it with a photo of students surrounding Kennedy in prayer. ?Several parents reached out to the District saying that their children had participated in Kennedy?s prayers solely to avoid separating themselves from the rest of the team,? Sotomayor wrote. ?No [Bremerton High School] students appeared to pray on the field after Kennedy?s suspension.? The National Council of Jewish Women, also a signatory to a friend-of-the-court brief, said the latest decision was one in a series that eroded church-state separations, citing among others the recent decision directing the state of Maine to pay for religious schooling for students for whom reaching public schools is arduous. ?No student should have to choose between their religious freedom and being part of school activities,? Jody Rabhan, the group?s chief policy officer, said in a statement. ?But today?s ruling in Kennedy v. Bremerton could force children enrolled in public schools to do just that.? Mikey Weinstein, the Jewish veteran who leads the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which advocates for religion-state separations in the military, said the ruling will undercut his years-long efforts to remove Christian prayers from military academy athletic events. The decision ?will serve to utterly and expeditiously destroy the precious wall separating church and state in our country and especially the U.S. military,? he said. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/355654 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... In a 6-3 ruling Monday, the court's majority said that the free exercise and free speech clauses of the First Amendment protected Kennedy's prayer time, as he was an individual engaging in religious expression. Kennedy told CBS News Monday that he was thankful for everyone who supported his case and was grateful that it was finally over, calling the court's decision a "great ruling for America." "People of faith or no faith, everybody has the same rights and that is what the Constitution is all about," Kennedy said. "It's rights for all Americans." When questioned about students that might have felt pressured to join in the prayers, Kennedy called the intercessions a "15-second thing." Kennedy also said that several students who told him they felt uncomfortable were given full freedom to skip the prayers and no one received special treatment for joining the prayer. 'That's America. You can join or you can not join, it's totally up to you," Kennedy said. "That's an individual liberty and it's just great that I have my liberty. It's my freedom to be able to just have that moment of prayer by myself." Kennedy's lawyer, First Liberty Institute CEO Kelly J. Shackelford, said that two players who said they would not join in the prayers were made team captains. The former Bremerton, Washington assistant coach began praying on the field following football games in 2008 and continued the practice until 2015, when he and the Bremerton School District began a heated debate over whether the practice, which often involved other players and students, was protected religious expression. After being placed on administrative leave for violating district directives to stop praying with the students, Kennedy chose not to reapply for his coaching position and instead sued the school district in August 2016. Following a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that sided with the school district, Kennedy and his legal team petitioned the Supreme Court. After turning down his case once and another lower court loss for Kennedy, the justices finally agreed to hear the coach's case in February. Kennedy told CBS News that he wants his old job back, but he has not heard anything from the school since the ruling was announced. Once a coach again, Kennedy said he plans to continue his prayers but does not know where they will take place. The Bremerton School District said it will continue working to ensure it is a "welcoming, inclusive environment for all students, their families and our staff." "I have no intentions of going back and wanting to pray with kids," Kennedy said. "It's just wanting the ability to thank God after a football game." Merith Weisman?s parents, Vivian, the assistant executive director at the local Jewish Community Center, and Daniel, a social work professor, were unnerved, and the prayer triggered a series of events and lawsuits that culminated in the landmark 1992 case. The decision ?will serve to utterly and expeditiously destroy the precious wall separating church and state in our country and especially the U.S. military,? he said. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/355654 ? _______________________________________________ Rushtalk mailing list Rushtalk at csdco.com http://galene.csd.net/mailman/listinfo/rushtalk -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Weisman. Lee v. "It's just wanting the ability to thank God after a football game." And before you know who whines about the date of the article I just found this one its not from some archive. CWSIV * The Growing Divide: Red States vs. Blue States * Andy Green * February 21, 2020 In a recent post, I introduced an interactive dashboard that explores the relationship between party control of state government and a variety of well-being metrics at the state level. Of the seven metrics included in the dashboard, states with more years of Democratic control were associated with better outcomes on four of the metrics (Median Household Income*, Uninsured Rate?, Bachelor?s Degree + Rate**, and GDP Per Capita?), while there wasn?t a statistically significant relationship for the other three metrics. However, the dashboard doesn?t show just how much these relationships change over the 20 years the dataset spans (1999-2018). A Tool for Understanding the Relationship To explore this dynamic, I introduce a dashboard examining how the relationship between political party control of a state?s government and the following well-being metrics has evolved over the last 20 years: * Median Household Income * Poverty Rate * Uninsured Rate * No High School Diploma Rate * Post-Secondary Education Rate (Bachelor?s Degree +) * Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Per Capita * Unemployment Rate The dashboard classifies each state?s government in a given year into one of three categories ? Democratic-controlled, Republican-controlled, or split government control. A state is only considered to be under either Democratic or Republican control if that party controls all three primary components of the state?s government ? the governorship, the state house, and the state senate ? also known as a ?trifecta.? If the state has any combination of political party control other than a trifecta, it is placed in the split government category for that year. The dashboard shows the average performance of all states within each of the party control categories over the last 20 years, with the dropdown on the right toggling between metrics. Note that for some of the metrics, lower numbers are better (e.g. Uninsured Rate), while for other metrics, higher numbers are better (e.g. GDP Per Capita). What the Dashboard Can Tell Us The dashboard illustrates the growing divide between ?red states? and ?blue states? over the last 20 years. While Republican-controlled states have stronger average performance on four of the seven metrics at the beginning of the timeframe, Democratic-controlled states have stronger average performance on six of the seven metrics by the end of the timeframe. The unemployment rate is the only metric in which Republican-controlled states have stronger average performance by the end of the 20-year period. Three metrics flip from having stronger average performance among Republican-controlled states at the beginning of the timeframe to having stronger average performance among Democratic-controlled states by the end of the timeframe ? Poverty Rate, No High School Diploma Rate, and Post-Secondary Education Rate (Bachelor?s Degree +). For example, in 1999, Republican-controlled states were outperforming Democratic-controlled states on the poverty rate by 1.1 percentage points. However, by 2018, Democratic-controlled states were outperforming Republican-controlled states on average by 2.8 percentage points, a 3.9 percentage point swing. In addition, there were three other metrics in which the gap between Democratic and Republican-controlled states widened even further over the course of the timeframe ? Median Household Income, Uninsured Rate, and GDP Per Capita. For example, in 1999, Democratic-controlled states had higher median household incomes on average by a margin of $1,819. However, by 2018, the gap was up to $12,010, an increase of over $10,000. Limitations and Future Analysis To be sure, this dashboard is not intended to imply a causal effect; correlation is not causation. Democratic policies may have driven stronger median household income performance amongst Democratic-controlled states, but it?s also possible that wealthier states started to elect more Democrats. Further, since the states comprising each category can change from year to year, there?s no way to draw any conclusions about a potential causal relationship based on what we see here. In a future post, I will start to dig into whether any such causal relationships exist. I will analyze how each of these metrics evolves over the course of trifecta control by either party, and compare it to how those metrics evolve in states that aren?t under trifecta control by that party. In other words, I?ll seek to isolate the effect that party control of state government has on these various well-being metrics. ? indicates significance at p < 0.1 * indicates significance at p < 0.5 ** indicates significance at p < 0.01 Note: Edited on June 10, 2020 to provide more detail on statistical significance. Former Juneau County Circuit Court Judge John Roemer, 68, was killed in a ?targeted attack? on the judicial system, the Department of Justice explained in a statement. - Advertisement - ?Judge Roemer dedicated much of his career to public service in the law,? Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Annette Kingsland Ziegler said in a statement. ?Before taking the bench in 2004, he had served as an assistant district attorney and as an assistant state public defender. He was known by colleagues for his sharp legal mind and his willingness to share his time and knowledge with others.? The incident occurred at around 6:30 am when the Juneau County Sheriff?s Office received a call from someone nearby who saw an armed person and heard gunshots fired in John Roemer?s residence. After failed attempts to negotiate with the gunman, the Juneau County Special Tactics and Response decided to enter the residence and found Roemer zip-tied to a chair. Police also found the suspect, a 56-year-old male, hiding in the basement with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby medical facility. ?This incident appears to be a targeted act. There is no immediate danger to the public. Names of the involved individuals are being withheld until family notifications are complete,? the DOJ said in a statement. The station claimed that a ?hit list? was found in the gunman?s vehicle, which included the names of Governor Tony Evers, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said that the suspect had selected targets who were ?part of the judicial system.? ?The information that?s been gathered indicated that it was a targeted act and that the targeting was based on some sort of court case or court cases,? Kaul said. The Wisconsin DOJ?s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation into the murder, along with the Sauk County Sheriff?s Office, Mauston Police Department, Elroy Police Department, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol, DOJ?s Office of Crime Victim Services, and the FBI. The gunman is said to be alive but in critical condition and no further information regarding his identity has been provided. https://24hrnews.org/retired-judge-is-fatally-shot-in-a-attack-on-the-judicial-system/?utm_source=Rengaged&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=n29y0b8ketwhg&em_id=4e9fe4729c3613c17d4868a5d7acf7c4 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Guess Who It?s Sponsored By. Yes, it?s Pfizer. Start by Natalie Winters July 11, 2022 The Florida Democratic Party?s annual leadership conference is sponsored by Big Pharma giant and COVID-19 vaccine pusher Pfizer, The National Pulse can reveal. Taking place July 15th through 17th, the event and gala count Pfizer as one of its lead corporate sponsors in addition to Democratic campaign and lobby groups. ActBlue ? the prominent payment processor for Democrats and Black Lives Matter ? is also a sponsor, in addition to the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). The ?Leadership Blue? event, hosted in Tampa, convenes Democratic candidates for office and Florida Democratic Party (FDP) officials from across the state for training seminars and meetings. Pfizer?s sponsorship appears to pose yet another conflict of interest given the company?s role as a COVID-19 vaccine maker which still enjoys government protection against legal challenges over their MRNA therapies. Furthermore, despite obscuring results from its pharmaceutical trials and studies suggesting natural immunity confers better protection than COVID-19 vaccination, the company has continued to receive approval on its vaccines and boosters from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Meanwhile, Floridian Democrats have criticized state Governor Ron DeSantis for failing to implement COVID-19 vaccine mandates for businesses and schools ? a policy that directly affects Pfizer?s profits. The pharmaceutical giant has spent a record-breaking amount on lobbyists throughout COVID-19, strategically tapping former government employees with ties to Joe Biden, to push for authorization of its vaccine. In 2019, the company spent $11,000,000 on lobbying efforts before increasing the total to $13,150,000 ? the highest total since 2010. In 2019, the company retained 77 lobbyists before the total grew to a team of 102 lobbyists in 2020. So far in 2021, Pfizer has declared 92 lobbyists. Pfizer has employed a similar tactic outside the political sphere, as individuals tied to the company hold influential roles within media, technology, and the World Economic Forum (WEF). Earlier this year, Democrats en masse voted against a move that would prohibit the monitoring and persecution of American citizens who refused the vaccine. In October 2021, a Pfizer scientist was caught on hidden camera admitting to profiteering off COVID-19. Pfizer?s sponsorship also follows the event moving from its original location of Disney World to the Tampa JW Marriott due to pressure from LGBTQ activists over Disney?s initial refusal to condemn Governor DeSantis?s ?Don?t Say Gay? bill. For a guy and his girlfriend with two kids, all you have to do is follow these proven steps: 1. Don't marry her! 2. Always use your mom's address to get your mail. 3. The guy buys a house. 4. The guy rents out the house to his girlfriend with his two kids. 5. Section 8 will pay $900 a month for a 3 bedroom home. 6. Girlfriend signs up for Obamacare, so the guy doesn't have to pay for family insurance. 7. Girlfriend gets to go to college for free for being a single mother. 8. Girlfriend gets $600 a month for food stamps. 9. Girlfriend gets a free cell phone. 10. Girlfriend gets free utilities. 11. The guy moves into the home but continues to use mom's address for his mail. 12. Girlfriend claims one kid and guy claims the other kid on their tax forms. Now both get to claim head of household at $1800 credit. 13. Girlfriend gets $1800 a month disability for having a "bad back" and never has to work again. This plan is perfectly legal and is being executed now by millions of people! A married couple with a stay-at-home mom yields $0 dollars. An unmarried couple with a stay-at-home mom nets $21,600 disability + $10,800 free housing + $6,000 free Obamacare + $6,000 free food+ $4,800 free utilities + $6,000 Pell grant money to spend + $12,000 a year in college tuition free from Pell grant + $8,800 tax benefit for being a single mother = $75,000 a year in benefits! And lied. And lied. By?Bruce Bawer. All the President?s Men?was a splendid work of American cinema ? and it was about what we?ve all been told ever since was the most splendid chapter in American journalistic history, a textbook case of dogged footwork and moral integrity that lifted the Post into the front rank of American newspapers, gave Woodstein (the Post?s in-house nickname for Bob and Carl) an Olympian status that they still enjoy to this day, made journalists as a class more important and influential than ever, and ushered in a new era of aggressive and ambitious ? yet far more respected ? investigative reporting about politicians. But, but, but: There was always another big question about Watergate: why would the Nixon White House have wanted to burglarize Democratic headquarters in the first place? It was already obvious that Nixon was heading for a landslide victory. He didn?t need any DNC dirt. Even in the movie, an unnamed editor at the Post, played by John McMartin, tells Bradlee: ?I don?t believe the story. It doesn?t make sense.? The motive for the burglary remained murky for decades. ? In?The Mysteries of Watergate: What Really Happened??[John O?Connor, a veteran criminal prosecutor and friend of FBI number-two Mark Felt, who in 2015 admitted to being Deep Throat] leads us, Virgil-like, through the whole convoluted scandal, debunking old conjectures, proffering new information, and ultimately spelling out, with prosecutorial meticulousness, the myriad ways in which the full story deviates from the Post?s accounts. By book?s end, Woodward and Bernstein ? and their editors ? no longer look like heroes. Far from it. ??Watergate wasn?t really a Nixon job. It was a CIA caper. ? If you saw?All the President?s Men, you may remember Woodward?s discovery that [Howard Hunt, the White House operative] was also at the CIA and that he worked part-time at a PR firm called Mullen. Mullen never comes up again in the movie. In fact, as Woodstein soon found out, it was a CIA front. But that little detail never made it way into any of their?Post?articles. Because on July 10, 1972, according to CIA records to which O?Connor gained access, Mullen?s president, Robert F. Bennett made a deal with Woodward ? O?Connor calls it ?a conspiracy of obstruction? ? to feed him Watergate stories in exchange for a promise to omit from?Post?reporting any mention of Mullen?s role as a CIA front. ? It soon became clear to Woodstein that the Watergate break-in had been a CIA operation for which Hunt, because he was a White House official, had been able to claim presidential authorization.?Yet the Post ? which, as O?Connor notes, was founded in 1877 as ?the official organ of the Democratic Party? and which in the 1970s, believe it or not, shared a general counsel (Joseph Califano) with the DNC ? didn?t want to bring down the CIA. It wanted to bring down Nixon. And after learning that?the CIA?s motive for the break-in had to do not with political secrets but with a prostitution referral service that was operating out of DNC headquarters, the?Post?wanted to protect Democrats. Why, then, did Nixon pursue the ultimately self-destructive cover-up? Because John Dean ? the White House counsel who, unbeknownst to Nixon, had had his own personal reasons for wanting the DNC?s prostitution records ? urged Nixon to do so, never informing him that what he was covering up was, in fact, a CIA project. As O?Connor observes,?if Nixon hadn?t pursued the cover-up, the truth about the break-in might actually have come out, and Nixon would?ve been seen not as its mastermind but as an innocent fall guy. You may ask: if the?Post?hid the truth about Watergate, how did that truth stay hidden for so long? The answer requires you, if you?re old enough, to think back to the pre-Internet era. It was remarkably easy, back then, to hide facts ? even facts that had gone public. As it happens, news stories containing key elements of the real Watergate story appeared at the time in various newspapers around the U.S. But they weren?t national newspapers. Their reports weren?t picked up by other media. And so they disappeared quickly down the memory hole. Meanwhile the?Post, whose reporting on the subject was considered definitive, consistently ? and dishonestly ? covered up the truth. And kept doing so in the years that followed. An example. In 1980, Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy published Will, which O?Connor calls ?the most honest of the Watergate memoirs.? Because its publication was a headline event, the editors of the Post felt compelled to weigh in. In an editorial, they dismissed Liddy?s claim that the burglary had (in their words) been ?not an attempt to collect political intelligence on President Nixon?s enemies, but an effort master-minded by then White House counsel John Dean to steal pictures of prostitutes? ? even though they knew this was true. Woodward was similarly dishonest in his?Post?review of the book. ? Bottom line: the?Post, that vaunted bulwark of American freedom, was, as O?Connor puts it, ?guilty of a cover-up far more significant than Nixon?s.? Before Trump, there was Nixon: Leading figures in the Deep State ? from Bradlee to Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox, both Kennedy family intimates ? cynically worked together to remove from the Oval Office a man who?d just been re-elected by an overwhelming margin of 520 to 17 electoral votes, but whom they, the Beltway insiders who felt their own judgment should trump that of the American people, uniformly despised. And they won. ? A major lurch to the left and bureaucratic control: Woodward and Bernstein didn?t just destroy Nixon. They radically altered the course of American history. By bringing down Nixon, they gave us Jimmy Carter. They revealed to their colleagues in the American news media just how much power they all had to shape public opinion ? and how much wealth and prestige they could accrue by bending the facts to fit a partisan narrative. Woodstein?s example made possible the news media?s use, decades later, of endlessly repeated lies about Donald Trump to bring down yet another successful presidency. In short, the real story of Watergate is far different from the story we?ve been told all these years. The only remaining mystery now is this: to what, if any, degree will John O?Connor, in the face of a press corps and a community of academic historians who are devoted to the Watergate myth, succeed in replacing that myth, in the public record, with the Nixon-friendly, Post-damning facts? The administrative state might have got rid of JFK, they got rid of Nixon with the spooks and the cover-up lies, and Trump?s election defeat was probably rigged. Hmmm. We just filed a FOIA lawsuit against the U.S. Department of HomelandSecurity (DHS) for Secret Service hidden records on Hunter Biden?s traveland security costs. (JudicialWatch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (No.1:22-cv-02097)). We sued after the Secret Service (a component of DHS) failed to respondadequately to three separate FOIA requests in March and April 2022 for: - All records concerning the use of security and/or other services toHunter Biden and any companions; and - All records concerning the use of U.S. Government funds to providesecurity and/or any other services to Hunter Biden and anycompanions. The Secret Service is violating FOIA law by slow-rolling and hiding HunterBiden records. What are they trying to hide? We have some idea because in June 2020, we receivedrecords from the U.S. Secret Service showing that during the firstfive-and-a-half years of the Obama administration, Hunter Biden traveledextensively while receiving a Secret Service protective detail. Whoopi Says 'My Child Makes the Decision' on Abortion, Implying Babies Are Alive in Womb and Want to Be Aborted Grant Atkinson, The Western Journal By Grant Atkinson, The Western Journal Published May 3, 2022 at 6:27pm After a draft of a Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade leaked on Monday night, many leftists quickly launched into full scale panic over the prospect of facing restrictions on killing babies. During Tuesday?s episode of ?The View,? co-host Whoopi Goldberg had one of the most ridiculous reactions of all. Goldberg began by discussing mask mandates as they relate to bodily autonomy. ?You?ve got people telling me I gotta wear a mask or don?t wear a mask or do this,? Goldberg said. ?Everybody wants to tell me what to do, but you won?t let me make my decision about my body.? Stop the censors, sign up to get today's top stories delivered right to your inbox >From the start of this rant, Goldberg?s logic is confusing. If she is arguing people should be able to make choices about their bodies, that would suggest they could choose whether or not to wear a mask. This was a far cry from her previous support of mandating masks for all Americans. In May 2021, Goldberg suggested people should put aside ?concerns about your personal space? in favor of ?what is good for the country.? In other words, Goldberg wanted Americans to simply submit to mask and vaccine mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that abortion is on the chopping block, she is suddenly changing her tune and suggesting Americans should have the right to choose whether to end another life. But that was not even the most outlandish suggestion Goldberg made on Tuesday. As she continued railing against the potential for laws prohibiting the killing of babies, she said the babies themselves should be the ones choosing whether or not they are aborted. ?You are not the person to make that decision,? Goldberg said about abortion. ?My doctor and my self and my child, that?s who makes the decision.? In order to make a decision about abortion, the child Goldberg is referring to would have to be a sentient human being. If Goldberg actually believes the child decides whether or not to be aborted, she is admitting babies are alive in the womb, which cuts directly against the traditional pro-abortion argument. Of course, even though babies in the womb are in fact human beings, the suggestion that they can make decisions on abortion is ridiculous. These babies are alive, but they still lack the mental or physical capabilities to make decisions of this magnitude. Even after babies are born, it takes years for them to develop basic reasoning skills. For the first year of his life, the average baby cannot even speak for himself. If babies did have the mental and physical capacity while in the womb to decide if they wanted to be aborted, chances are they would choose not to be brutally dismembered. Goldberg?s argument is a typical one from the pro-abortion crowd ? full of logical flaws and self-contradictions. If pro-abortion activists took the time to really think through what they were saying, they would realize how deeply immoral abortion is. https://thefederalistpapers.org/us/babies-want-dismembered-whoopi-says-child-makes-decision-abortion-implying-babies-alive-womb-want-aborted -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Speaking at the annual UnidosUS conference in San Antonio, Texas, Biden made some insulting comparisons to the organization?s founder, Raul Yzaguirre. ?Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community, as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio, is your strength,? she said. Her remarks sparked criticism among members of the community, including the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, who called out the First Lady for stereotyping Latinos. ?We are not tacos. Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by a variety of diasporas, cultures, and food traditions, and should not be reduced to a stereotype,? the organization said. This comes as President Joe Biden?s popularity continues to decline, especially in the Hispanic community. A survey released by NBC News recently revealed that Hispanic voters in support of the president dropped from 48 percent to 39 percent, while women voters declined from 51 percent to 44 percent ? which shows an alarming precedent for the Democratic party, as these demographic groups are key for them. Infighting within the Democratic Party is also worsening with New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez throwing a fit over fellow party members using the term ?Latinx.? ?I also have a mini-rant about this because there are some politicians, including Democratic politicians, that rail against the term ?Latinx.? And they?re like, ?This is so bad, this is so bad for the party,? like blah, blah, blah,? she said during an Instagram Live session. ?And it?s almost like it hasn?t struck some of these folks that another person?s identity is not about your reelection prospects.? A December poll from a Democratic firm found that 30% of potential voters are less likely to support a politician who freely uses the ?Latinx? term, while only 2% of Hispanic respondents use the term. Democrats fear that the squabble within the party, along with the overall dissatisfaction with the Biden administration, could cost them their majority in Congress during the November 8 midterm elections. https://24hrnews.org/latino-community-pissed-at-jill-bidens-offensive-remarks/?utm_source=Rengaged&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=fnh9y7s01mok8&em_id=4e9fe4729c3613c17d4868a5d7acf7c4 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
